Vice President, San Francisco
Mike Burger is a Vice President in Prager's Strategic Advisory and Financial Advisory practices. Mike brings nearly 13 years of municipal finance industry experience, working with higher education, non-profit 501(c)(3), senior living, and healthcare borrowers.
Before joining Prager, Mr. Burger was a Senior Vice President in the Education & Nonprofit Banking group of Wells Fargo's Government & Institutional Banking commercial banking unit. He was the Western Division Credit Team Leader and oversaw a $1.6 billion loan portfolio that included clients such as The University of California System, California Academy of Sciences, Pepperdine University, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others. Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Burger was a Director in Fitch Ratings' Public Finance Higher Education and Healthcare groups, where he was responsible for analyzing and rating public and private universities, foundations, cultural institutions, and social service organizations. He has authored many research articles, commentaries and special reports, and was a frequent presenter at Fitch teleconferences.
Mr. Burger received his B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned both Master of Public Administration and M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the California Society of Municipal Analysts.
