Managing Director, San Francisco
Nim Chinniah serves as Managing Director and co-head of the Strategic Advisory Group. He brings over 25 years of senior strategic, financial, and operations experience in higher education. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Northwestern University. As its Chief Operating Officer, Chinniah led the university’s global strategy, and managed Northwestern’s financial, administrative, and operating units including finance, investments, human resources, facilities, real estate, information technology, internal audit, risk, compliance, public safety, change management, and neighborhood/community relations. Prior to Northwestern, he spent seven years as the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer of the University of Chicago.
Chinniah began his career at Vanderbilt University, where he rose to Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Academic Affairs over a period of 16 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and business from Lambuth University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
