Introduction to Strategic Advisory Services
Prager's recently launched Strategic Advisory Group is a mission-driven strategic and holistic approach to identifying and unlocking value within the academic enterprise.
This important and critically needed service to our clients is in direct response to the challenges confronting higher education: technology-driven disruption to longstanding learning, teaching, and business models, declining public funding, increasing challenges to revenue growth, and rapidly rising operating expenses all demand new and creative approaches.
The Strategic Advisory Group seeks to deliver total balance sheet optimization by identifying and unlocking the institution's economic assets and operations that are unrecognized, undervalued, or under-utilized.
By employing strategic partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, asset monetizations, and other traditional corporate finance techniques and strategies, an institution can generate incremental funding that can be used to focus on and drive its mission.
Prager's Strategic Advisory Group is co-headed by David Hetz and Nim Chinniah, whose highly complementary backgrounds and expertise allow us to deliver to our clients a combination of strategic, operational, and transactional perspectives that is unique in higher education investment banking. Nim's experience includes over 25 years of senior strategic, financial, and operations management at world-class institutions such as Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and Vanderbilt University. David brings nearly 40 years of merger & acquisition, strategic partnership, venture capital, and public and private equity investment banking experience as well as nearly 20 years as a trustee of Claremont McKenna College. Foundational to their advice is the conviction that understanding and respecting the unique mission, culture, and strategy of the institution is critical to any successful solution.
